The DLT Science Foundation (DSF), a non-profit organisation, has been publicly launched with an aim to advance the understanding and incorporation of distributed ledger technology (DLT) and is offering up to £5 million in grants to stimulate research in this field. DSF, with the backing of Hedera, seeks to revolutionise education, innovation, and research in DLT, working collaboratively with a network of international universities including the London School of Economics and University College London.

Professor Paolo Tasca and Nikhil Vadgama, the founders, believe DSF will unlock the full potential of DLT, facilitating the creation of a superior future by fostering collaboration with educators and academics to refine and advance programmes in DLT research, education, and innovation. Claudio Tessone from the University of Zurich expressed confidence that joining DSF will enable the pooling of resources from globally leading institutions and yield high-value outputs beneficial to the industry.
